Smart Women in Our Community: Christi Allen

The “Smart Women in Our Community” series serves to highlight Smart Women making a difference in our communities by telling their stories, encouraging other women, and empowering other women.

Meet Christi | Christi Allen is the wife of David Allen, and mother of Mary Beth and Ben Allen. Christi recently retired after 38 years with Dyersburg City Schools. She attends First Baptist Church in Newbern where she enjoys serving in the nursery, the church library, and the food pantry. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and sewing.

Christi serves on the Northwest Tennessee Advisory Board for Smart Women. She has attended Dyersburg events as well as brought friends to learn from the events.

Christi says,“The speakers have been experts in their field and able to communicate vital information to the attendees.  I commend First Citizens National Bank for their interest in educating women (and men) in the area of financial literacy.  I look forward to attending other Smart Women events.”

Smart Women is grateful for women like Christi who are dedicated to education, whether it is in the school system or in the community. As we enter a new school year, we want to express our gratitude for teachers, bus drivers, lunch staff, and administration. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
